Where Do We Go When We Die?

Where Do We Go When We Die?

The catholics believe that we go to heaven and the bad people go to hell and that’s what I was taught as a child by strict, Roman Catholic parents. I have a distinct memory of asking my Father, where do we go when we die? His response? Fuck knows. I’m kidding, he told me that if I was good, I’d go to heaven blah blah blah.

We don’t. There’s no such thing as heaven or hell, of that I am sure. What there is, is a transition that goes from this physical reality to another one and I also believe that we won’t have the same body we grew up with. I’m also a subscriber to the philosophy that human beings are designed with the capabilities of emotions, but our spiritual selves are not. They do not have a body, so therefore cannot feel pain, love, grief, anger etc. It’s more of a case of having a sense of something and knowing that an action will be sad, or funny or happy, but not being able to feel it. And that is the reason why we are born into a body, to experience Life.

I’m going to take you on a journey through my beliefs, which are a culmination of experiences and studies throughout my life and include sojourns into Hindi, Yogic, Buddhist, Muslim, Catholic and Christian faiths. Yes, beyond the exercise that Yoga is renowned for, it is also a faith and there’s a whole religion behind it.

How Did We Get Here?

As a being, and I mean…being, without a physical body, we don’t think in similar ways to how we do in human form. As non-physical beings, we have the knowledge of much more than we do as humans without the constraints of physical bodies to obstruct us. We’re aware for instance, as non-physical beings, that time is not linear, it is cyclical. We also know the answer to the question, where do we go when we die because we’ve died many times and know the process well. There’s a ‘staging area’ – if you like – which involves a debriefing by our soul groups to help us transition back to the spirit realm.

Just like in human form, our higher selves wish to experience emotions and life, which we cannot do in this state, so we choose to create a set of circumstances in a physical life that enables us to experience whatever we need to experience.

Yes, you…for whatever reason, created your life and made agreements with others, to try and work through emotions together. This life is the physical creation that you as a being, created. You chose your parents, you chose the city you live in and you chose major events to happen so that you could experience them in the hopes that they would shape your physical mind and you’d do whatever was expected of you.

Where Do We Go When We Die?

I believe in soul groups as well as soul mates, but I do not believe there’s only one particular person that you have a strong connection with and that many beings play many parts in both your physical and non-physical lives. Your non-physical life is much longer than your physical life and you’ll inevitably mix with a large variety of people, some of which are part of your group and others that are working towards similar goals.

What are those goals? That’s a tricky one. It depends on too many variables to predict it for one person, but in general, we are advancing our species as a whole and we are collectively doing that together. That shift requires a lot of work.

When we die, we leave our physical bodies and we see things completely differently. Depending on what we learned as physical beings – this life – we move into a reality that is based on what we expect. If your life is filled with fear and torment that you’ll move into an existence of the same. If your life is filled with love and happines then you’ll continue to experience similar, though understand, you’ll be in a different state, so don’t expect a house and car and designer jewellery.

Soul Groups

We’ve all heard about soul mates, but what are soul groups? They’re similar to soul mates in that they’re individual beings that live with us throughout different lifetimes. The reason why I’m certain of this is a subject for another blog down the track. It’s also why I have a fair idea of where do we go when we die. That topic is coming soon.

The people closest to you in this life, which might be your parents or your siblings or your partners or even your friends, are people that will be part of your group when you die. They’re the people we will see (assuming they’ve died) when we die. Similarly, when they die, we’ll be there to greet them.

We’ll enter a staging area, we’ll share experiences and go through a ‘shower’ which is more of an emotional cleansing that will help us to rid our higher selves of residual emotions and to clean our energy out.

I’m writing a very exciting book called Circle in the Sand. You’ll get updates on its release if you’re subscribed. You can read about it here.

Food for thought. I’ve been thinking about death a lot lately and wondering where we go when we die.
    Thanks Foxy ?

Thanks, glad you liked it. I’ve been thinking about it a lot since Monique’s death and it’s partially why I started writing Circle in the Sand.
