Fox Emerson Joins Snowball Editions and Announces New Novella Cell
A few things have been quietly happening behind the scenes lately, including some work with Snowball Editions, and since a lot of you read both here and other places like Substack, it seemed like a good moment to share a proper update.
First, the latest one.
I’m very happy to say I’m part of the launch line-up for a new digital erotica press called Snowball Editions.
Snowball is being put together by a group of writers who care about the same thing I do: stories first, sex second, and absolutely no interest in pressing the magic AI button and calling it writing. The idea is simple. Short books that are properly written, properly edited, downloadable as epub or pdf, and built around the sort of stories people actually want to read when they open something labelled gay erotica.
The launch list includes some brilliant writers, and somehow I managed to sneak into the room with them.
My first story with Snowball will be called Cell.
I’ll share more about it closer to launch, but the short version is that it’s a novella about a bored cop on the midnight shift, a young guy hauled in for doing donuts in an empty parking lot, and a police station that’s too hot for anyone to think clearly.
What follows is a long night, a very smart stranger, an overenthusiastic golden retriever, and the slow realisation that sometimes the most dangerous thing in a locked room isn’t the criminal.
So yes. That’s coming and I’m genuinely excited about it.
Meanwhile, the usual chaos continues
For those following along across the different corners of the Fox universe, writing is continuing happily on Substack and Patreon. Those platforms are still where most of the new stories appear first, and the support there has been incredible.
It’s allowed me to keep doing the thing I actually enjoy doing, which is writing stories about men who like to touch other men, and then watching their lives unravel.
The other big development is Good Luck Getting Rid of Me. Chapter 11 should be dropping this week.
The chapter by chapter memoir is now out in the world and properly underway. It feels surreal after the amount of time it spent living inside my head. A lot of you have already started reading it and sending messages about it, which honestly means more than I can properly explain.
When you write something personal, you half expect people to read it and quietly back away.
But my readers have been amazing and encouraging me to continue.
So thank you.
The next slightly ridiculous step
One thing that will be happening over the coming months is a podcast appearance for Good Luck Getting Rid of Me.
Yes, really.
This will be on a major podcast with millions of subscribers and is currently in development.
If nothing else it will give me an excuse to talk too much, which I’m reliably informed is one of my natural talents.
Speaking of talking too much, you can also hear some of my erotica audio on Substack.
The streaming series question
A few people have also asked about the drama series connected to Good Luck Getting Rid of Me.
That conversation is still happening in the background. Which is exciting, but it’s also the sort of project that moves at the speed of continental drift. Film and television development timelines make publishing look positively reckless.
So yes, discussions are ongoing.
But if that finally ever actually happens it will be ‘soon’.
Thanks for reading. And thanks for being here while this slightly strange writing life keeps unfolding.
More soon.
